About Yusuf Salisu Majigiri (Hon.)

Hon. Yusuf Salisu Majigiri is a Nigerian politician from Katsina State and a member of the Federal House of Representatives. He represents the Mashi/Dutsi Federal Constituency, comprising Mashi and Dutsi Local Government Areas, in the National Assembly. He was elected to the 10th National Assembly and later moved from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Majigiri was born and raised in Mashi, Katsina State, and developed an early connection with the communities he would later represent. His educational background includes a Postgraduate Diploma, as well as qualifications in public procurement. His education and experience in public administration contributed to his later involvement in government and politics.

His political career began at the grassroots level. He served as a councillor before becoming chairman of his local government, a position he held for several years. He later entered federal politics and served as a member of the House of Representatives before taking up a senior administrative role as Chief of Staff to former Katsina State Governor Ibrahim Shehu Shema.

Majigiri also became an important figure within the PDP in Katsina State, eventually serving as State Chairman of the party. He was involved in the organisation of the party and its political activities across the state. In the 2023 elections, he successfully returned to the House of Representatives to represent the Mashi/Dutsi Federal Constituency.

As a federal legislator, Majigiri has participated in legislative activities concerning the development of his constituency and Katsina State. He has sponsored legislative initiatives, including a bill seeking the establishment of the Federal College of Nursing and Midwifery in Mashi, Katsina State.

In 2025, Majigiri left the PDP and joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) along with a number of supporters in Katsina State. He has continued his political activities as the representative of Mashi/Dutsi, maintaining his involvement in grassroots politics and constituency development.

Yusuf Salisu Majigiri's career therefore spans grassroots administration, state-level party leadership, executive government service and federal legislative representation. His long involvement in Katsina politics has kept him closely connected to the people of Mashi and Dutsi, whom he currently represents in the National Assembly.
