About Uzo Ihuka

Chief Uzo Ihuka is a Nigerian politician, businessman and public administrator from Abia State. He has been involved in public service and political affairs in the state for several years and is regarded as one of the notable political figures from the Isiala Ngwa area.

Chief Ihuka previously served as a Commissioner in the Abia State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (ASOPADEC), where he was involved in matters relating to development and public administration. He also served as Commissioner for Environment in Abia State during the administration of former Governor Okezie Ikpeazu. His years in government gave him experience in environmental management, community development and public-sector administration.

In April 2024, Chief Uzo Ihuka left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and joined the All Progressives Congress (APC), alongside several other prominent political figures associated with the former Abia State administration. His move to the APC marked a new phase in his political career.

In May 2026, Chief Uzo Ihuka emerged as the APC candidate for the Isiala Ngwa North/Isiala Ngwa South Federal Constituency in the party's House of Representatives primary ahead of the 2027 general election. His emergence positioned him to contest for a seat in the National Assembly representing the two local government areas.

As a political figure, Ihuka has continued to emphasize development, effective representation and greater federal presence for communities within the constituency. His political experience at the state-government level provides a foundation for his bid to represent the people of Isiala Ngwa North and Isiala Ngwa South at the federal level.

Chief Uzo Ihuka's career reflects a progression from public administration and state-level political appointments to national legislative politics, with his 2027 House of Representatives candidacy representing the latest stage of his public-service journey.
