Biography of Hon. Thomas Ereyitomi

Hon. Thomas Ereyitomi is a Nigerian politician, businessman and community leader from Delta State. He was born in 1965 and is associated with the Warri area of Delta State. He represents the Warri North/Warri South/Warri South West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Ereyitomi began his education at Ogidigben Primary School and later attended Ogidigben Grammar School, where he obtained his secondary school qualification. He subsequently studied at Delta State University, Abraka, where he obtained a degree in Political Science and later an MBA. He also holds a Master of Public Administration qualification.

Before entering elective politics, Ereyitomi developed a career in business and the oil-services sector. He worked with Chevron Nigeria as a contractor staff and later established Tomba Resources Limited, an oil-services company based in Warri. His professional activities have been closely connected with the Niger Delta's oil and gas economy.

His involvement in community leadership began well before his federal political career. From 2005 to 2014, he served as Chairman of the Community Development Committee (CDC) in Ogidigben, where he participated in community development activities and represented local interests.

Ereyitomi later served as Commissioner representing the Itsekiri ethnic group on the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) from 2015 to 2018. This position gave him experience in state-level administration and development issues affecting oil-producing communities.

In the 2019 general election, Ereyitomi was elected to the House of Representatives to represent the Warri North/Warri South/Warri South West Federal Constituency. He was re-elected in 2023 for another term in the National Assembly.

As a federal legislator, Ereyitomi has served on various House committees and has been involved in matters relating to the Niger Delta and the oil-producing communities of Delta State. His public career has therefore combined community leadership, private-sector experience, state government service and federal legislative representation.
