About Taiwo Emmanuel Oluwatoyin (Hon.)

Dr. Emmanuel Oluwatoyin Taiwo is a Nigerian politician, public administrator and businessman from Ogun State. He is from Ifonyintedo in Ipokia Local Government Area of Ogun State and is the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Yewa South/Ipokia Federal Constituency in the 2027 House of Representatives election. Before entering the contest, he served in several senior positions in the Ogun State Government, most notably as Chief of Staff to Governor Dapo Abiodun.

Taiwo has an extensive academic background. In July 2026, he obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from Babcock University, adding another doctoral qualification to his academic record. He had previously obtained a doctorate in Organizational Management from a university in the Republic of Benin. His academic and professional background has been associated with management, administration and public-sector leadership.

Before becoming Chief of Staff, Taiwo served in other senior positions within the Ogun State Government. He was appointed Deputy Chief of Staff and later served as Commissioner for Culture and Tourism. These positions gave him experience in government administration, policy implementation, cultural affairs and tourism development within the state.

Taiwo subsequently became Chief of Staff to Governor Dapo Abiodun, where he was involved in coordinating activities around the Governor's office and liaising with government officials and other stakeholders. His period in the position gave him experience in intergovernmental relations, policy coordination and the administration of the state government. He remained in the role until his move into electoral politics ahead of the 2027 elections.

In 2026, Taiwo sought the APC nomination for the Yewa South/Ipokia Federal Constituency. He emerged as the party's candidate following the APC primary process, positioning him to contest the federal constituency in the 2027 general election. His campaign has emphasized the use of his experience in government and the private sector to pursue development and effective representation for the constituency.

Since his emergence as candidate, Taiwo has remained involved in constituency-oriented activities. In September 2026, he distributed educational materials, including exercise books, school sandals and socks, to pupils and students in public schools across Ipokia Local Government Area. He has also spoken about issues affecting residents of the constituency, including education, security, infrastructure and economic opportunities.

Taiwo Emmanuel Oluwatoyin's public career therefore combines academic achievement, private-sector experience and senior government administration. His service as Deputy Chief of Staff, Commissioner for Culture and Tourism and Chief of Staff has provided him with several years of experience in Ogun State's executive administration. His 2027 candidacy represents his transition from appointed government positions to an attempt to secure elected representation for Yewa South and Ipokia in the House of Representatives.
