About Sanni Egidi Abdulraheem (Hon.)

Hon. Sanni Egidi Abdulraheem is a Nigerian politician, accountant and lawyer who represents the Ajaokuta Federal Constituency of Kogi State in the House of Representatives. He is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and was elected to the 10th National Assembly in the 2023 general elections. He was born on 29 December 1969 and is from Ajaokuta Local Government Area of Kogi State.

Abdulraheem has a diverse educational background. He obtained a National Diploma and Higher National Diploma in Accountancy, followed by an MBA in Administration from the National Open University of Nigeria. He later studied Law at Baze University, Abuja, obtaining an LL.B degree. His academic background has given him professional exposure to accounting, administration and legal affairs.

Before entering elective politics, Abdulraheem spent many years in the Kogi State Civil Service. He began his public-service career in accounting and revenue-related positions and subsequently rose through the state bureaucracy. He eventually attained the position of Permanent Secretary, including service in the Ministry responsible for Local Government affairs. His experience in the civil service provided him with considerable knowledge of government administration and public-sector management.

Abdulraheem entered federal elective politics in the 2023 general elections, when he contested the Ajaokuta Federal Constituency seat on the platform of the APC. He won the election and became a member of the 10th House of Representatives. His emergence gave Ajaokuta representation at the federal legislative level and marked a transition from his long career in the civil service into elected public office.

As a legislator, Abdulraheem has been involved in issues concerning industrial development, infrastructure and the welfare of his constituents. One of the issues strongly associated with his legislative activities is the revival of the Ajaokuta Steel Complex, which he has advocated as an important part of Nigeria's industrial development. He has also been involved in constituency interventions covering areas such as electricity, roads, water supply, skills acquisition and youth empowerment.

Beyond legislative proceedings, Abdulraheem has maintained an active constituency-development programme. His interventions have included empowerment initiatives, support for entrepreneurs, ICT training, agricultural assistance and other programmes aimed at creating economic opportunities for residents of Ajaokuta. These activities have formed an important part of his engagement with constituents during his first term in the National Assembly.

Ahead of the 2027 general elections, Sanni Egidi Abdulraheem emerged as the APC candidate for the Ajaokuta Federal Constituency after winning the party's primary election conducted in May 2026. His emergence means he is seeking another term in the House of Representatives, where he intends to continue representing Ajaokuta at the federal level.

Sanni Egidi Abdulraheem's public career therefore combines extensive experience in the Kogi State Civil Service with professional training in accountancy, administration and law, as well as legislative experience at the federal level. His continued political career is closely connected to Ajaokuta and to issues of industrial development, infrastructure and constituency representation.
