Jigawa | House of representatives
Hon. Sani Nazifi is a Nigerian politician from Jigawa State and a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Born on 1 August 1980, he represents the Gumel/Maigatari/Sule Tankarkar/Gagarawa Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives. He is a returning member of the 10th National Assembly and has been involved in legislative representation for the constituency since 2019.
Sani Nazifi has a background in public and political administration and holds a Master of Science degree. Before his election to the National Assembly, he was active in the political structure of the APC and served as the party's State Treasurer in Jigawa State from 2007 to 2010.
He was first elected to the House of Representatives in the 2019 general election, winning the Gumel/Maigatari/Sule Tankarkar/Gagarawa Federal Constituency on the APC platform. He subsequently continued his legislative career and became a member of the 9th and 10th National Assemblies.
As a federal legislator, Nazifi has participated in debates and constituency-related initiatives concerning infrastructure and economic development. One of his notable interventions was a motion calling for the rehabilitation of the Gumel–Maigatari road, an important route linking communities and the Maigatari international market with the Niger Republic border.
In the 2026 APC primary election for the 2027 House of Representatives election, Nazifi Sani successfully secured the party's ticket for the Gumel/Maigatari/Sule Tankarkar/Gagarawa constituency after a contested primary. He is therefore seeking another term in the National Assembly to continue representing the four local government areas.
Through his political and legislative activities, Sani Nazifi has maintained a public profile centred on federal representation, constituency interests and development issues affecting the people of Jigawa State.
