Osun | House of representatives
Hon. Emmanuel Olusanya Omirin is a Nigerian politician and public servant from Osun State. He represents the Atakunmosa East/Atakunmosa West/Ilesa East/Ilesa West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives. He was elected to the 10th National Assembly in 2023 on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and subsequently moved to the All Progressives Congress (APC). He is listed by the APC as its candidate for the constituency in the 2027 House of Representatives election.
Omirin was born on June 29, 1964, and is from Osun State. His official legislative profile records a Master of Business Administration (MBA) among his educational qualifications. His public profile has largely been associated with political and community activities in the areas covered by the Atakunmosa and Ilesa federal constituency, where he has built a presence through grassroots engagement.
He entered federal politics through the 2023 general election, when he contested the Atakunmosa East/West/Ilesa East/West Federal Constituency seat on the PDP platform. He won the election and became a member of the 10th House of Representatives. The official House proceedings from the beginning of the 10th Assembly list Omirin as the representative of the constituency, confirming his membership of the federal legislature.
During his time in the National Assembly, Omirin has participated in plenary proceedings and constituency representation on behalf of the four local government areas covered by his federal constituency. His legislative tenure has included engagement with issues affecting residents of Atakunmosa East, Atakunmosa West, Ilesa East and Ilesa West. House records also document his participation in formal proceedings and constituency-related matters during the 10th Assembly.
In 2025, Omirin was among a group of federal lawmakers who defected from the PDP to the APC. His defection placed him within the governing party ahead of the 2027 general election. The change of party was subsequently reflected in political databases and the APC's 2027 candidate directory.
Following the APC's candidate-selection process for the 2027 elections, Omirin emerged as the party's candidate for the Atakunmosa East/Atakunmosa West/Ilesa East/Ilesa West Federal Constituency. The APC's official candidate directory lists him under Osun State for the House of Representatives seat, indicating that he is seeking another term in the National Assembly.
As he seeks another term, Omirin's political profile remains closely connected to the four local government areas that make up his constituency. His transition from the PDP to the APC and subsequent emergence as the APC's 2027 candidate mark the latest stage of his federal political career and his continued involvement in the representation of communities across the Atakunmosa and Ilesa areas.
