About Okpor Ngim Kanu (Hon.)

Hon. Okpor Ngim Kanu is a Nigerian politician from Cross River State who has been involved in legislative politics for several years. He is associated with Biase Local Government Area and the Biase State Constituency of Cross River State.

Ngim Kanu first became prominent in state politics through his election to the Cross River State House of Assembly. In the 2011 general election, he contested the Biase State Constituency seat on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and was declared elected after securing 25,157 votes.

His election was challenged by Mkpanam Obo-Bassey Ekpo of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), who filed an election petition disputing the result. The case proceeded to the Court of Appeal in Calabar, which upheld the decision of the election tribunal in favour of Ngim Kanu.

Ngim Kanu remained active in Cross River State politics and later contested the Biase State Constituency seat under the All Progressives Congress (APC). In the 2019 State House of Assembly election, he polled 7,067 votes as the APC candidate. He did not win the election, with the PDP candidate, Ogbor Ogbor Udop, declared elected.

His political career has therefore included representation at the state legislative level, participation in electoral contests and involvement with both the PDP and APC. His activities have been particularly connected with Biase and the wider political affairs of Cross River State.

Publicly available records do not provide sufficient reliable information about his date of birth, educational background or professional career outside politics. These details have therefore been omitted to avoid presenting unverified information as fact.

Okpor Ngim Kanu remains a figure associated with the political history of Biase State Constituency, having served as its elected representative and subsequently participated in further legislative contests in Cross River State.
