Biography of Hon. Ojema Ojotu

Hon. Ojema Ojotu is a Nigerian politician and legislator from Benue State. He was born on 25 February 1983 and represents the Apa/Agatu Federal Constituency of Benue State in the House of Representatives. He is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and serves in the 10th National Assembly.

Ojotu holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree. Before entering mainstream politics, he worked as a cleric with Hosanna Prayer & Prophetic Ministries International, where he was involved in religious and community activities.

He contested the 2023 House of Representatives election on the platform of the PDP and won the Apa/Agatu Federal Constituency seat. He was subsequently inaugurated as a member of the 10th National Assembly in June 2023.

Within the House of Representatives, Ojotu has been involved in legislative activities concerning his constituency and national development. He serves as Chairman of the House Committee on Inland Waterways, giving him oversight responsibilities in an important area of Nigeria's transportation and waterway sector.

A significant part of his legislative activities has focused on the security and development challenges affecting Apa and Agatu. He has raised concerns over attacks on communities in the constituency and called for stronger security measures and humanitarian interventions for displaced residents.

Ojema Ojotu has also been associated with constituency development initiatives, including infrastructure and educational support. His legislative and community activities have largely centred on improving security, infrastructure and opportunities for the people of Apa and Agatu.

Through his transition from religious ministry into electoral politics and federal legislative service, Ojema Ojotu has become an active political figure in Benue State and continues to represent the people of Apa/Agatu in the National Assembly.
