Biography of Mustapha Tijjani Ghali

Mustapha Tijjani Ghali is a Nigerian politician and academic from Kano State. He was born on 13 August 1980 and represents the Albasu/Gaya/Ajingi Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives. He is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and is serving in the 10th National Assembly.

Ghali has an academic background in philosophy and holds a PhD in Philosophy. His educational and intellectual background has contributed to his involvement in public affairs and legislative activities, particularly on issues relating to governance, education and constitutional matters.

He entered federal elective politics and won the Albasu/Gaya/Ajingi Federal Constituency seat in the 2023 general election on the platform of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP). His victory brought him into the 10th National Assembly as a first-term member of the House of Representatives.

During his time in the National Assembly, Ghali has participated in legislative proceedings and sponsored bills addressing a range of national issues. In 2024, he sponsored proposed amendments relating to political affiliation and physical appearance, the Electoral Act, the Child's Rights Act and the Compulsory, Free Universal Basic Education Act.

In March 2026, Mustapha Tijjani Ghali defected from the NNPP to the APC alongside several other members of the Kano State delegation in the House of Representatives. The lawmakers cited internal developments within the NNPP as part of the reasons for their political realignment.

Following his defection, Ghali continued his legislative responsibilities as the representative of Albasu, Gaya and Ajingi. His political activities have remained connected to constituency representation, education, governance and legislative reform.

Ahead of the 2027 general elections, Ghali emerged as the APC candidate for the Albasu/Gaya/Ajingi Federal Constituency. His political career combines an academic background in philosophy with legislative experience, grassroots representation and participation in Kano State and national politics.
