Biography of Hon. Mukhtar Rabiu Garki

Hon. Mukhtar Rabiu Garki is a Nigerian politician from Jigawa State and a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He represents the Babura/Garki Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

Mukhtar Rabiu Garki emerged as the APC candidate in the August 2025 bye-election for the Babura/Garki Federal Constituency, following the vacancy created by the death of the former representative, Isa Dogonyaro. He won the election and was subsequently sworn into the House of Representatives in October 2025.

As a member of the 10th National Assembly, Mukhtar has been involved in legislative activities and constituency representation for the people of Babura and Garki. His tenure has included attention to infrastructure, electricity, roads, water facilities, education, humanitarian support and youth-related interventions within the constituency.

In the 2026 APC primaries, Mukhtar Rabiu Garki emerged through consensus as the party's candidate for the Babura/Garki Federal Constituency for the 2027 general election. He is seeking a full four-year mandate to continue representing the constituency in the House of Representatives.

Mukhtar is listed as 60 years old and holds the First School Leaving Certificate, General Certificate of Education (GCE) and an Ordinary National Diploma (OND).
