Biography of Magaji Amos Gwamna

Magaji Amos Gwamna, also known as Amos Gwamna Magaji, is a Nigerian politician, businessman and public health and safety professional from Kaduna State. He was born on 29 July 1971 and is from the Southern Kaduna area. He represents the Zangon Kataf/Jaba Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

Amos Magaji began his higher education at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where he studied Human Physiology and obtained his bachelor's degree in 2000. He later pursued postgraduate studies in health management, occupational health and safety, business administration and environmental management. His academic and professional training has given him experience across healthcare, occupational safety, environmental management and risk management.

Before entering politics, Magaji worked in the private sector as a consultant in occupational health and safety. He was involved in business and safety management and also served in leadership positions within the Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria. His professional experience in health and safety later became an important part of his public-service profile.

Magaji entered elective politics in 2019 when he contested the Zangon Kataf/Jaba Federal Constituency seat on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He won the election and became a member of the 9th National Assembly. He was re-elected in 2023 and continued into the 10th National Assembly.

During his time in the House of Representatives, Magaji has been involved in legislative activities relating particularly to healthcare and public safety. He served as Chairman of the House Committee on Health Institutions, where his professional background in health management and safety was relevant to his parliamentary responsibilities.

In 2025, Magaji moved from the PDP to the All Progressives Congress (APC), joining other lawmakers who changed political affiliation during the 10th National Assembly. He has remained active in Kaduna State politics and continues to maintain strong links with communities across Zangon Kataf and Jaba.

Magaji Amos Gwamna's career combines academic training, professional experience in health and safety, business, grassroots politics and legislative service. Through his work in the National Assembly and his continued involvement in community affairs, he has remained active in issues concerning healthcare, security, public safety and development in Southern Kaduna.
