Biography of Ladan Mukhtar Shehu

Ladan Mukhtar Shehu is a Nigerian politician from Kaduna State who has been active in the political affairs of Makarfi and Kudan Local Government Areas. He is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and has been involved in efforts to provide political representation for the people of the Makarfi/Kudan Federal Constituency.

Ladan Mukhtar Shehu was born in 1987. His educational qualifications include a First School Leaving Certificate, West African Senior School Certificate and National Examination Council certificate. He later obtained a Bachelor of Science degree, giving him an academic background that complements his involvement in public affairs.

He first gained wider political recognition as the APC candidate for the Makarfi/Kudan Federal Constituency in the 2019 general election. At the time, he was listed among the APC's candidates for the House of Representatives and was 32 years old. His candidacy marked his early participation in federal electoral politics and established him as a political figure within the constituency.

In the 2019 election, Ladan contested against candidates from several political parties for the Makarfi/Kudan seat. He subsequently became a member of the House of Representatives in the Ninth National Assembly, where he represented the constituency and participated in legislative activities.

During his time in the National Assembly, Ladan was involved in legislative work, including sponsoring bills and participating in parliamentary proceedings. His activities also included issues relating to the interests of his constituency and the broader development of Kaduna State.

Ladan Mukhtar Shehu contested the Makarfi/Kudan Federal Constituency again in the 2023 general election on the platform of the APC. He polled 23,793 votes but was defeated by PDP candidate Ajilo Umar Shehu, who secured 34,600 votes.

Ahead of the 2027 general elections, Ladan Mukhtar Shehu remains associated with the APC and has again been listed as the party's candidate for Makarfi/Kudan Federal Constituency. His political career continues to reflect his involvement in Kaduna State politics, grassroots mobilisation and the pursuit of legislative representation for the people of Makarfi and Kudan.
