About Kolade David Alabi (Hon)

Biography of Hon. Kolade David Alabi

Hon. Kolade David Alabi is a Nigerian lawyer, politician, and grassroots administrator in Lagos State. He is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and is the party’s candidate for the Somolu Federal Constituency in the 2027 House of Representatives election. He emerged as the APC candidate after winning the party’s primary election in May 2026.

Alabi has built his political career largely through grassroots administration and local government leadership. He served as the Chairman of Bariga Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Lagos State, where he became known for his involvement in community development and local governance.

He has also played an important role in local government administration beyond Bariga. Alabi served as National President of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), an organisation representing Nigeria’s local government authorities. His position in ALGON gave him an opportunity to participate in discussions concerning local government administration, development, and the relationship between local councils and other levels of government.

As a lawyer, Alabi has also maintained a professional career alongside his political activities. His legal background and experience in public administration have contributed to his profile as a political figure involved in governance and community affairs.

In the May 2026 APC primary, Alabi secured the party’s ticket to contest the Somolu Federal Constituency seat. He reportedly won the primary with 23,690 votes, defeating other aspirants and becoming the APC flag bearer for the constituency in the 2027 general election.

His political career reflects a progression from grassroots administration to broader local-government leadership and now federal legislative politics. As the APC candidate for Somolu, Kolade David Alabi is seeking to bring his experience in law, local governance, and community development to the National Assembly.
