Chief (Dr.) Joseph Erico Ameh is a Nigerian security expert, businessman, politician, philanthropist, and community leader from Kogi State. He is the founder of Real Strikers Security Services Limited and has been actively involved in political and community development activities in Kogi State.
Joseph Erico Ameh was born in 1966 in Etutekpe-Okpo, Olamaboro Local Government Area of Kogi State. He received his primary education at First Division Artillery Army Children School, Kaduna, before proceeding to Ogugu Community Secondary School, Olamaboro, where he completed his secondary education.
Ameh pursued higher education in the fields of English, administration, political science, business administration, and security-related studies. He also undertook professional training in security management in Nigeria and abroad, developing expertise in private security administration and organizational management.
Before becoming prominent in politics, Ameh established himself in the private security industry. In 2005, he founded Real Strikers Security Services Limited with only two employees. Over the years, the company expanded considerably and became involved in providing security services to organizations and institutions across Nigeria.
His professional work in the security sector earned him recognition within the industry. He has participated in security-management programmes and professional activities and has advocated for improved security standards, professional training, and stronger cooperation between private security organizations and government security agencies.
Ameh later became actively involved in Nigerian politics, particularly in Kogi State. He became associated with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and emerged as one of the party's prominent political figures in Kogi East.
In 2019, Joseph Erico Ameh contested the Kogi State governorship election as a PDP aspirant. During the campaign period, he presented programmes focused on improving security, creating employment opportunities, strengthening infrastructure, developing agriculture, and improving the welfare of Kogi State residents.
His political activities have also included grassroots mobilization and support for political candidates and community initiatives. He has maintained a strong presence within Kogi East, where he has continued to participate in political and community-development activities.
In 2026, Ameh became associated with the All Progressives Congress (APC) after moving into the party's political structure in Kogi State. His political influence in Kogi East has continued to grow, particularly as preparations for the 2027 general elections have intensified.
His public agenda has emphasized security, employment, youth empowerment, agriculture, education, infrastructure, and economic development. He has also expressed interest in using his experience in the private sector and security industry to contribute to governance and community development.
