Biography of Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe

Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe is a Nigerian politician, lawyer, and public servant who represents Cross River North Senatorial District in the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Born on 9 December 1970 in Ibil, Ogoja Local Government Area of Cross River State, he is widely recognized for his legislative experience, grassroots engagement, and commitment to the development of Cross River North.

Jarigbe Agom received his early education at the School of Basic Studies, Port Harcourt, before proceeding to the University of Calabar, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry. In pursuit of further academic and professional development, he obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from Baze University, Abuja, in 2022, complementing his experience in public service with legal expertise.

Before his election into the National Assembly, Senator Jarigbe built a successful career in business and public administration. He served as the Managing Director of Laja Enterprises Limited and was actively involved in political administration within Cross River State. He also served as Chairman of the Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment Programme (SURE-P) in Cross River State, where he contributed to the implementation of development initiatives and employment programmes.

His legislative career began in 2015, when he was elected to the House of Representatives to represent the Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). During his two terms in the Green Chamber, he earned recognition for his advocacy in areas such as education, infrastructure, public accountability, and the oil and gas sector.

In the 2020 Cross River North Senatorial by-election, Jarigbe emerged victorious after a legal contest that was ultimately resolved by the Supreme Court of Nigeria, which affirmed him as the duly elected senator. He was sworn into the Senate on 15 September 2021 and was subsequently re-elected in the 2023 general elections. In 2025, he joined the All Progressives Congress (APC), continuing his legislative service under the new platform.

As a senator, Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe has focused on constituency development through the provision of educational support, rural water projects, healthcare initiatives, and infrastructure improvements across Cross River North. He has also sponsored and supported legislation aimed at promoting national development, economic growth, and improved governance.

Beyond politics, Senator Jarigbe is known for his commitment to community service, youth empowerment, and educational advancement. He is married to Offiong Jarigbe, and they are blessed with four children. Through his years of public service, he has established himself as one of the prominent political figures in Cross River State, dedicated to effective representation and the welfare of his constituents.
