Hon. Hussain Hassan Shehu is a Nigerian politician from Kano State and a member of the Federal House of Representatives. He represents the Nassarawa Federal Constituency of Kano State in the National Assembly. He was elected to the House of Representatives in the 2023 general elections on the platform of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and became a member of the 10th National Assembly.

Hussain Hassan Shehu was born on 1 November 1978 in Kano State. He received his early education in Kano before pursuing higher education, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree. His educational background, combined with his involvement in public affairs, contributed to his emergence in Kano's political environment.

Before his election to the National Assembly, Shehu was involved in political and community activities in Kano State. His political career developed through grassroots engagement and participation in issues affecting residents of the Nassarawa area. He subsequently contested the federal constituency seat and secured the mandate to represent the people of Nassarawa.

As a member of the 10th House of Representatives, Hussain Hassan Shehu has participated in legislative proceedings, committee activities and constituency representation. He has also held responsibilities within House committees, including serving as Vice Chairman of the Committee on Customs and Excise Duty, giving him a role in parliamentary oversight of matters relating to customs administration and related policies.

In March 2026, Shehu moved from the NNPP to the All Progressives Congress (APC) alongside several other Kano lawmakers. He subsequently emerged as the APC candidate for the Nassarawa Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 House of Representatives election.

Hussain Hassan Shehu's political career therefore spans grassroots political participation and federal legislative representation. Through his position in the National Assembly, he continues to represent the interests of constituents in Nassarawa Federal Constituency, while remaining active in the political affairs of Kano State.
