Fuad Kayode Laguda is a Nigerian politician, public administrator and tax professional who represents Surulere I Federal Constituency of Lagos State in the Nigerian House of Representatives. He was born on 23 July 1977 in Lagos State and is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Laguda obtained a degree in Economics from the University of Maiduguri in 2000. He later pursued postgraduate studies in Public Administration and Business Administration, developing expertise in public policy, administration and management. He began his professional career with the Lagos State Board of Internal Revenue, where he worked in various capacities and gained considerable experience in tax administration. He later joined the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), where he served in different roles related to taxation, revenue administration and government affairs.
His involvement in politics grew through the APC in Lagos State. He served as the APC Chairman of Surulere Local Government and participated in several political and campaign organisations. His years of political and community engagement in Surulere helped establish his profile within the constituency.
Following the departure of Femi Gbajabiamila from the Surulere I Federal Constituency seat, Laguda emerged as the APC candidate for the subsequent bye-election. On 3 February 2024, he won the election and became a member of the 10th National Assembly.
Since entering the House of Representatives, Laguda has been involved in legislative activities and constituency development, with attention to areas such as education, youth empowerment, infrastructure, employment and community development. He serves as the Chairman of the House Committee on Federal Polytechnics, where he provides legislative oversight on matters concerning federal polytechnic institutions across Nigeria.
