Hon. Dele Osinowo, popularly known as Mayor Dele Osinowo, is a Nigerian politician, businessman, and grassroots leader in Lagos State. He is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the party’s candidate for the Kosofe Federal Constituency in the 2027 House of Representatives election.

Osinowo began his political journey in the late 1990s when he became involved with the Alliance for Democracy (AD) and progressive political activities in Lagos. After spending several years in the United Kingdom, where he studied and worked, he returned to Nigeria and became increasingly involved in grassroots politics and local government administration.

He obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies and a Master’s degree in Risk Management from the University of East London in the United Kingdom. While in the UK, he worked as a business and security analyst with Citibank before later becoming involved in real estate and other business activities.

Upon returning to Nigeria, Osinowo served as Secretary of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA and later served on its transition committee. He subsequently became Executive Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, winning the 2017 local government election on the APC platform. He served for about seven years and became associated with several development projects in the LCDA.

During his tenure as chairman, his administration focused on infrastructure, housing, healthcare, education, roads, sports facilities, youth empowerment and improvements in internally generated revenue. His administration also used public-private partnerships to deliver housing estates and other community projects.

Beyond his role in local government, Osinowo has participated actively in Lagos politics and political mobilisation. He served in campaign structures connected to Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the late Senator Bayo Osinowo, who was also an important political mentor to him. Osinowo has also been involved in community-oriented initiatives through the Mayor Dele Osinowo Foundation.

In 2026, Osinowo emerged as the APC candidate for Kosofe Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general election. His move to the federal level marks the next stage of a political career that has largely been built around grassroots administration, community development and party organisation.

He is regarded as a prominent grassroots politician in Kosofe and Lagos State, with his political profile shaped significantly by his experience in local government administration and his emphasis on infrastructure and community development.
