Hon. David Agada Ogewu is a Nigerian politician and legislator from Benue State. He was born on 29 July 1986 and is a prominent figure among the Igede people. He represents the Oju/Obi Federal Constituency of Benue State in the House of Representatives on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Ogewu obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Lagos and later proceeded to the same institution, where he earned a Master’s degree in Public Administration. His academic background in political science and public administration has complemented his career in politics and legislative service.

His first major electoral contest was in the 2019 House of Representatives election, when he contested the Oju/Obi seat under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). Although he was initially declared the winner, the election was subsequently overturned following legal proceedings, and he lost his appeal.

Ogewu returned to the contest in the 2023 general election, this time as the APC candidate. He defeated the incumbent representative, Samson Okwu, to secure the Oju/Obi Federal Constituency seat and became a member of the 10th National Assembly.

In the House of Representatives, Ogewu has participated in legislative activities concerning infrastructure, security, education, healthcare and economic development. He has also been involved in discussions and legislative efforts relating to the development needs of his constituency and the wider Benue community.

As part of his constituency activities, Ogewu has supported initiatives involving education, youth development, community empowerment and infrastructure. He has also advocated for projects intended to improve access to education and healthcare within Oju and Obi Local Government Areas.

David Ogewu continues to serve as the federal representative for Oju/Obi Constituency in the 10th National Assembly. His political career has been marked by grassroots engagement, electoral persistence and legislative representation, with particular attention to development issues affecting the people of his constituency.
