Biography of Hon. Bukar Talba

Hon. Bukar Talba is a Nigerian politician and public servant from Borno State. He was born on 13 June 1978 in Borno State and represents the Monguno/Marte/Nganzai Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives. He is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Talba holds a Bachelor of Science degree and has a background in public administration and government service. Before entering the National Assembly, he was involved in the administration of Borno State and developed experience in public-sector management and agricultural development.

Before his election to the House of Representatives, Talba served as Commissioner for Agriculture in the Borno State Government. He resigned from the position to pursue his ambition of representing the people of Monguno, Marte and Nganzai at the federal level.

In the 2023 general election, Talba contested the Monguno/Marte/Nganzai Federal Constituency seat on the platform of the APC and was elected to the House of Representatives. He subsequently became a member of the 10th National Assembly, succeeding Mohammed Tahir Monguno, who moved to the Senate.

As a federal legislator, Talba has participated in legislative activities covering agriculture, security, environmental protection, small and medium-sized enterprises and community development. He has also sponsored bills dealing with issues including agricultural institutions, environmental regulation, federal highways and national security.

His constituency work has particularly involved communities affected by insurgency and humanitarian challenges in northern Borno. In 2025, he sponsored a motion concerning the need to empower victims of insurgency in Marte, highlighting the importance of economic recovery and support for affected communities.

Bukar Talba's career spans state-level executive administration and federal legislative service. His experience in agriculture and public administration has continued to influence his activities as the representative of Monguno, Marte and Nganzai in the National Assembly.
