About Babangida Hussaini

Babangida Hussaini (born February 6, 1964) is a Nigerian civil servant and politician, currently serving as Senator for Jigawa North-West in the 10th National Assembly under the APC. He is widely known by his traditional title, Walin Kazaure.

Hussaini holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Public Administration from Ahmadu Bello University and the Nigerian Defence Academy. He had a 35-year civil service career, rising to Permanent Secretary in Jigawa State and later serving in the Federal Civil Service at the Ministries of Defence and Works and Housing.

Entering politics in 2023, he chairs the Senate Committees on Northwest Development Commission (NWDC) and FERMA, focusing on infrastructure, education, healthcare, and water supply. He is also active in philanthropy, providing scholarships, supporting orphans, and promoting international trade for Jigawa commodities.
