Delta State | Senator
Ede Omueya Dafinone (born April 10, 1962) is a Nigerian chartered accountant, businessman, and politician, currently serving as Senator for Delta Central in the 10th National Assembly under the APC. He comes from the prominent Dafinone family, renowned for producing the most chartered accountants in a single family.
He earned a B.A. in Economics from Victoria University of Manchester, an M.A. in Economics from the University of Exeter, and completed executive training at Lagos Business School. Dafinone is a fellow of ICAEW, ICAN, and the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria.
Before politics, he worked at Touche Ross & Co in London, became Deputy Managing Partner at Crowe Dafinone, and held leadership roles in NEM Insurance, NEXIM Bank, and Sapele Petroleum. He also chaired the Nigerian Conservation Foundation and MAN Export Promotion Group.
Elected Senator in 2023, he is Vice Chairman of the Senate Committees on Legislative Compliance and Local Content. He has sponsored bills establishing federal universities, advocated for environmental protection, road rehabilitation, and national security, and promoted educational and vocational empowerment through the Dafinone Foundation.
He is recognized for philanthropy, scholarships, vocational training, and constituency development, earning the title "Senator of the Year" at the 2025 Niger Delta Advancement Awards.
