Katsina State | Senator
Abdulaziz Musa Yar’Adua (born 4 August 1964) is a Nigerian politician and retired Army lieutenant colonel, currently serving as the Senator representing Katsina Central since 2023. He is the younger brother of former President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua and General Shehu Musa Yar’Adua.
He was educated in Katsina and Zaria, earning degrees in physics and science and technology, and later obtained a master’s degree in electrical engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology in the United States. Yar’Adua served in the Nigerian Army from 1981 to 2010, rising to lieutenant colonel and holding various command and staff roles, with his final posting at Army Headquarters, Abuja.
Entering politics in 2010, he joined the CPC and later the APC. After several unsuccessful primary contests, he won the APC primary for Katsina Central in 2022 and was elected Senator in the 2023 general elections. He is married with children and has received several military honors for his service.
