Aliyu Muktar Betara (born November 22, 1966) is a Nigerian politician and accountant representing the Biu/Bayo/Shani/Kwaya Kusar Federal Constituency of Borno State in the House of Representatives. He is serving his fifth consecutive term and currently chairs the House Committee on the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) while also leading the North-East Zonal Caucus.

First elected in 2007, Betara has previously chaired key committees, including Appropriations, Defence, and Army, and was a contender for the 10th House Speakership in 2023. An HND and MSc holder, he is recognized for extensive constituency projects in healthcare, education, and infrastructure and holds the national honor of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON).
