Ibrahim Gaidam (born September 15, 1956) is a Nigerian politician and professional accountant, currently serving as Minister of Police Affairs since 2023. He hails from Bukarti, Yunusari LGA, Yobe State, and holds academic qualifications in accountancy from Ahmadu Bello University, alongside professional certification as a CPA.
Gaidam spent over three decades in public service, rising through the civil service as an auditor, accountant, commissioner, and permanent secretary before retiring in 2007. He entered elective politics as Deputy Governor of Yobe State (2007–2009) and later served as Governor (2009–2019), steering the state through the peak of the Boko Haram insurgency while expanding investments in infrastructure, health, and education.
He represented Yobe East in the 9th Senate (2019–2023) and was re-elected in 2023 but resigned to join the Federal Executive Council. Widely regarded as a key APC figure, he has received national honors, including the Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON), and multiple honorary doctorates.
