About Danladi Halilu ESQ

Danladi Halilu Envulu-Anza (born c. 1961) is a Nigerian legal practitioner, retired judicial administrator, and politician from Nasarawa State. He is best known for his long judicial career, including 15 years as Secretary of the National Judicial Council (NJC) from 2002 to 2017.

Born in Eggon, Nasarawa State, he earned a Diploma in Law and LL.B from Ahmadu Bello University, a B.L. from the Nigerian Law School, and an LL.M from the University of Jos, with additional advanced legal certifications from Nigeria and Canada.

Envulu-Anza served over 40 years in the judiciary, rising from State Counsel to Chief Magistrate, Deputy Chief Registrar, and Chief Registrar in Plateau and Nasarawa States before his NJC tenure.

After retirement, he joined the APC and contested the Nasarawa North Senate seat in 2023, though the incumbent retained the position. He holds the traditional title of Danburam Agunji and is active in philanthropy and community leadership. His family includes notable public figures, including his late father, an MFR awardee, and a brother serving as an FCT High Court Judge.
