About Akande-Sadipe Tolulope Tiwalola (Hon.)

Tolulope Tiwalola Akande-Sadipe is a Nigerian politician, accountant and legislator from Oyo State. Born on 29 March 1966, she represents the Oluyole Federal Constituency of Oyo State in the House of Representatives. She is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and has served multiple terms in the National Assembly. Her political career has combined legislative responsibilities at the federal level with previous experience in public administration and government advisory roles in Oyo State.

Akande-Sadipe has an academic and professional background that includes studies in the United States. Available records identify her as a holder of a Bachelor of Science degree, while biographical records also associate her education with the American University and Southeastern University. Before entering elective politics, she developed professional experience in accounting, audit and management consulting. She worked as an accountant with Enterprises for New Direction and subsequently joined Gardiner Kamya & Associates in Washington, D.C., where she gained experience in auditing and management consulting.

Her transition into public service included appointments within the Oyo State Government. She served as Special Adviser on Projects, with National Assembly records indicating periods of service in the governor's administration between 2016 and 2018. Her responsibilities in this area gave her experience in government projects, implementation and public-sector administration before she moved fully into elective politics.

Akande-Sadipe entered the National Assembly through the 2019 general election, when she won the Oluyole Federal Constituency seat on the platform of the APC. Her election made her the only female federal lawmaker representing Oyo State at the time. She subsequently began her first term in the 9th National Assembly, where she served on several committees and became particularly associated with the House Committee on Diaspora, which she chaired.

During her first term, Akande-Sadipe participated in legislative activities covering Nigerians in the diaspora, education, infrastructure, agriculture and social development. She also sponsored and supported constituency programmes focused on education and economic empowerment. Among the initiatives associated with her representation was a scholarship programme for tertiary students from Oluyole Federal Constituency, alongside agricultural training and empowerment programmes for farmers. Reports from her first term also documented projects involving schools, health facilities and community infrastructure.

Although she won the Oluyole seat in 2019, the 2023 election presented a different outcome, with available election records listing her as having lost that contest. She nevertheless remained active in politics and subsequently returned to the electoral process for the 2027 election cycle. In 2026, she emerged as the APC candidate for the Oluyole Federal Constituency seat after the party's nomination process. She later received the party's nomination documentation for the 2027 general election.

Her emergence as the APC's 2027 candidate was accompanied by a dispute from some party members in Oluyole, who protested the outcome of the primary and alleged that another aspirant, Gbolagade Abiodun, had won the exercise. These were allegations made by the protesters and should be distinguished from the APC's subsequent recognition of Akande-Sadipe as its candidate. The party later included her among its officially unveiled House of Representatives candidates for the 2027 election.

Tolulope Tiwalola Akande-Sadipe's political career therefore includes professional experience in accounting and management consulting, advisory service in the Oyo State Government and elected representation at the federal level. Her legislative record has particularly featured work relating to diaspora affairs and constituency development, while her political activities have remained centred on the Oluyole Federal Constituency. As of 2026, she is the APC's announced candidate for the Oluyole House of Representatives seat in the 2027 general election.
