Biography of Ahmed Tijjani Galadima Aminu

Ahmed Tijjani Galadima Aminu is a Nigerian public administrator, technocrat, and politician recognized for his distinguished career in public service and leadership in Nigeria's energy sector. He is best known for serving as the Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF), where he championed human capital development, scholarship programmes, and institutional reforms aimed at strengthening Nigeria's oil and gas industry.

Born on 26 February 1964 in Yola, Adamawa State, Ahmed Tijjani Galadima Aminu hails from a respected traditional family. He is the son of the late Galadima of Adamawa, Alhaji Galadima Aminu, and was raised in an environment that emphasized integrity, discipline, and service to society. He attended primary and secondary schools in Yola before earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, in 1988.

Galadima began his professional career in the private sector, serving in administrative and management positions that equipped him with extensive experience in corporate governance, personnel management, and organizational leadership. In 2002, he joined the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) as one of its pioneer staff members and steadily rose through the ranks by serving in key departments, including administration, planning, education, and training. His dedication and competence earned him appointment as General Manager of Education and Training before he later became Acting Executive Secretary and, subsequently, Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Fund.

As PTDF's Chief Executive, Ahmed Tijjani Galadima Aminu provided strategic leadership in advancing the Fund's mandate of developing indigenous capacity for Nigeria's petroleum industry. Under his stewardship, PTDF expanded scholarship opportunities for Nigerian students, strengthened research and innovation initiatives, enhanced institutional partnerships, and supported capacity-building programmes for professionals in the energy sector. His administration was widely recognized for promoting transparency, efficiency, and excellence in public service.

In 2026, after leaving the PTDF, Galadima formally declared his intention to contest the governorship of Adamawa State under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He presented a vision centered on good governance, youth empowerment, infrastructure development, education, economic growth, and inclusive leadership, stating that his aspiration was driven by a desire to contribute to the sustainable development of Adamawa State.

Throughout his career, Ahmed Tijjani Galadima Aminu has earned recognition as a disciplined administrator, institution builder, and advocate for education and human capital development.
