Biography of Ahmed Saidu Baba

Ahmed Saidu Baba is a Nigerian politician from Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State. He was born on 27 December 1973 in Bani, Kaiama Local Government Area, and has built his political career through grassroots participation, local government administration and legislative service.

He attended ZEB Primary School in Bani before proceeding to Army Day Secondary School, Abacha Barracks, Abuja. He later studied at the Justice Fati Lami Abubakar College of Art and Islamic Legal Studies in Minna, Niger State, where he obtained a Diploma in Sharia and Common Law.

Ahmed Saidu Baba began his political career at the grassroots level. He was elected as a councillor on two occasions and also served twice as a Supervisory Councillor. He subsequently served on the boards of several state institutions and parastatals, gaining experience in local government administration and public affairs.

He later entered the Kwara State House of Assembly and became the representative for the Adena/Bani/Gwaria/Gwanabe constituency. His political experience at the local government level provided a foundation for his transition into state-level legislative service.

Ahmed Saidu Baba is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He has served in the Kwara State House of Assembly and has held leadership responsibilities within the legislature, including serving as Chairman of the House Service.

Ahead of the 2027 general elections, Ahmed Saidu Baba emerged as the APC candidate for the Kaiama/Baruten Federal Constituency. His emergence has generated some disagreement among local political stakeholders, with the Kaiama Development Association questioning the process through which his candidacy was announced. The APC, however, has continued to present him as its candidate for the constituency.

With several years of experience in local government and state-level politics, Ahmed Saidu Baba has developed a career centred on grassroots politics, public administration and legislative representation. His 2027 candidacy represents his transition from the Kwara State House of Assembly to seeking representation at the federal level.
