Biography of Ahmad Yusuf Badau

Ahmad Yusuf Badau is a Nigerian politician from Kano State and a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He represents the Shanono/Bagwai Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives and has served in both the 9th and 10th National Assemblies. He was born on 15 July 1971.

Badau has a background in public administration and grassroots governance. He holds a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) and became involved in local government politics before moving into federal legislative representation.

His early political career included serving as Supervisory Councillor for Works and Housing in Bagwai Local Government Area between 2003 and 2004. He later served as Executive Chairman of Bagwai Local Government Area from 2004 to 2006 and again from 2018 to 2019. Between these periods, he also served as Special Assistant on Political Matters and later as Special Assistant on Land Matters within Kano State government.

In 2019, Ahmad Yusuf Badau contested and won the Shanono/Bagwai Federal Constituency seat on the platform of the APC, becoming a member of the 9th National Assembly. He was subsequently re-elected in the 2023 general election and continued his legislative service in the 10th Assembly.

As a federal lawmaker, Badau has participated in legislative proceedings and has sponsored bills focused on issues relevant to his constituency and its economic development. His legislative initiatives have included proposals for the establishment of a National Institute for Fishery Management in Bagwai and a National Tomato Production, Processing and Research Institute in Shanono.

Beyond his legislative responsibilities, Badau has maintained a strong connection with the communities of Shanono and Bagwai. His political career has included local government administration, party organisation and federal representation, giving him experience across different levels of public service.

Ahead of the 2027 general elections, Ahmad Yusuf Badau is the APC candidate for the Shanono/Bagwai Federal Constituency. His career reflects a progression from grassroots local government administration to federal legislative service, with his political activities focused on constituency representation and community development.
