About Abdullahi Saidu Musa (Hon.)

Hon. Abdullahi Saidu Musa, popularly known as Saidu Musa Abdullahi (SMA), is a Nigerian politician and businessman from Niger State. He represents the Bida/Gbako/Katcha Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Born on 31 May 1979, he has developed a career spanning banking, the oil and gas sector, business and federal legislative service.

Saidu Musa studied Economics at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where he obtained a second-class degree. He later earned a Master's degree in Development Studies from Bayero University, Kano. His academic background in economics and development studies has influenced his professional and legislative interests, particularly in areas relating to economic development and public finance.

Before entering politics, Saidu Musa built professional experience in the private sector. He began his career with Zenith Bank in 2000 and subsequently worked with Oando Plc, where he served as a Sales Manager across several locations, including Adamawa, Jalingo, Benue, Kano and Jigawa. He later became the Chief Operating Officer of Gerawa Global Engineering Limited, adding business and corporate management experience to his professional background.

Saidu Musa entered elective politics in 2019, when he contested and won the House of Representatives seat for the Bida/Gbako/Katcha Federal Constituency on the APC platform. He was subsequently re-elected in 2023, making him a second-term member of the National Assembly. His constituency covers Bida, Gbako and Katcha Local Government Areas of Niger State.

Within the House of Representatives, Saidu Musa has served in a number of legislative capacities. He became Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Finance, while also participating in committees dealing with areas such as public petitions, banking and currency, insurance, the Federal Capital Territory, agricultural colleges and institutions, and inter-parliamentary affairs. His legislative work has therefore included financial and economic matters as well as broader national policy issues.

Beyond his parliamentary duties, Saidu Musa has been involved in educational support and constituency-oriented initiatives. He has supported students from his constituency through educational assistance and has facilitated UTME registration for young people. These activities have formed part of his efforts to support access to education and opportunities for youths within Bida, Gbako and Katcha.

In 2026, Saidu Musa emerged as the APC consensus candidate for the Bida/Gbako/Katcha Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general election. His emergence followed consultations among party stakeholders and other aspirants within the constituency. If elected, the 2027 contest would give him an opportunity to continue his representation of the constituency in the House of Representatives.

Saidu Musa's public career thus combines experience in the private sector with several years of federal legislative service. From banking and oil and gas to economic development and parliamentary responsibilities, he has maintained a public profile centred on the Bida/Gbako/Katcha constituency and broader economic and development issues.
