Sokoto | House of representatives
Hon. Abdullahi Ahmad Kalambaina is a Nigerian politician from Sokoto State and a member of the House of Representatives representing the Kware/Wamakko Federal Constituency. He is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and is serving in the 10th National Assembly. He is a returning federal legislator, having previously served in the 9th National Assembly before winning another term in the 2023 general election.
Abdullahi Ahmad Kalambaina was born on 13 September 1968. Parliamentary records list his highest educational qualification as a Bachelor of Science (BSc). Public records provide relatively limited information about his early education and professional career before his involvement in local and national politics, but his subsequent career shows extensive experience in local government administration and elective public office.
Before entering the National Assembly, Kalambaina held a number of positions in local government administration in Sokoto State. The official National Assembly profile records that he served as a supervisory councillor, local government vice chairman and local government chairman on two occasions. He also served as a sole administrator and caretaker chairman. These positions gave him experience in grassroots administration and local government affairs before his transition to federal legislative politics.
Kalambaina's move into national politics resulted in his election to the House of Representatives. He represented the Kware/Wamakko Federal Constituency during the 9th National Assembly from 2019 to 2023. The Independent National Electoral Commission's published record for the 2019 House of Representatives elections lists Ahmad Abdullahi Kalambaina as the APC candidate who won the Kware/Wamakko constituency.
During the 9th National Assembly, Kalambaina was involved in committee work relating to internally displaced persons and humanitarian concerns. OrderPaper records him as the Vice Chairman of the House Committee on Internally Displaced Persons (IDP). His committee assignment placed him in an area of national policy dealing with displacement, humanitarian assistance and the challenges faced by communities affected by insecurity and other emergencies.
Kalambaina successfully contested for another term in the 2023 general election and returned to the House of Representatives as the APC representative for Kware/Wamakko in the 10th National Assembly. Parliamentary and legislative-monitoring records identify his current tenure as running from 2023 to 2027. His continued representation of the constituency has made him one of the Sokoto State lawmakers with experience across consecutive National Assembly terms.
His constituency comprises Kware and Wamakko Local Government Areas of Sokoto State. Through his position in the House of Representatives, Kalambaina participates in federal lawmaking while representing the interests of constituents from the two local government areas. His earlier experience as a local government chairman and administrator also forms an important part of his political background, linking his career at the grassroots level with his subsequent federal legislative responsibilities.
For the 2027 general election, available candidate records show that Kalambaina is seeking another term in the House of Representatives for the Kware/Wamakko Federal Constituency. However, there is a significant discrepancy in the publicly available records concerning his party. While his current National Assembly profile and other legislative records identify him with the APC, a September 2026 record reproducing the final 2027 candidate list identifies Abdullahi Ahmad Kalambaina under the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), while listing a different candidate under the APC. Because of this conflict, his 2027 party affiliation should be treated cautiously pending confirmation from the authoritative electoral record.
Overall, Abdullahi Ahmad Kalambaina's political career spans local government administration and federal legislative service. His experience includes service as a councillor, local government vice chairman, two-time local government chairman, sole administrator and caretaker chairman before his election to the National Assembly. He subsequently served in the 9th Assembly and returned in 2023 for the 10th Assembly, where he continues to represent Kware/Wamakko. His political career has therefore been built around both grassroots administration and federal legislative representation in Sokoto State.
